John Putnam has been performing blues for over 30 years, fronting his own trios and quartets as singer/guitarist since 1989. Having moved to New York from Boston, Mr. Putnam performs with his own John Putnam and Used Blues.

During his career, Mr. Putnam has been a studio arranger and guitarist, teacher, lounge pianist, and soundtrack composer for TV (WBZ Boston, WGBH Boston) and radio (WERS, WGBH) and independant films. Recently two of John's commissioned pieces have been performed at multiple graduations for Harvard and MIT. John also orchestrated the show "Swing For Victory". John heads the Blues program at the Studio in mid-town Manhattan performing with the workshop groups he leads 5 or 6 times a year at the Bitter End in Greenwich Villiage.
